Long Beach, California
Long Beach is situated at the south-east of Los Angeles County. It is an extremely large city that consists of several different areas, including a large industrial area, and some exclusive cultural communities. The city is the 35th largest city in the US, and the 5th largest in the state of California. One of the largest ports in the world belongs to the Long Beach Port. The port serves shipping between the Pacific Rim and the US. The estimated population of the city is 463,956, according to the census taken in 2005.
There are several attractions to see in Long Beach, one of them being Queen Mary. This is a historic ship where you can visit and take several types of tours. It includes a hotel, a few restaurants and a shopping promenade. There is also the Russian Foxtrot Submarine "Scorpion", a retired Russian submarine where you can take your own self-guided tour. Other great attractions include the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden, Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Adobe, Long Beach Museum of Art, and the Aquarium of the Pacific.
